4th of July!

The day started at 6:30 am. I was due at DHS at 7:30 to go to the Centerville parade. We all got in one of the 5 buses and were off! In true Davis Marching Band style, we were always on time or early. After the Centerville parade, we got a water bottle and a granola bar and headed to Kaysville. I had a nap on the bus ride:) The Kaysville Parade was a tad longer and hotter, but I was pleasantly surprised that both parades were shorter than I expected. It was fun (and hot) to march in the parades and sure gave me a taste of what the Rose Parade will be like. These parades were barely 2 1/2 miles long; the Rose Parade is 7 1/2! The crowds were awesome, and even though I couldn't see most of the people that cheered me on, I heard you guys! Thanks!:)
I'm second from the top. Below another redhead:)
Tizzy's first 4th!

Lexie was in the Kaysville parade too, obviously as a Cheerleader:) And the Ry & Jen Dopps and Kings came over for a quick Doppwagon breakfast

Very cute and patriotic bunch!
Awww!

Even the Centerville people who are in the Viewmont boundaries cheered when we went by.
After the parades I was pretty tired and dehydrated. I made it for the end of the Kaysville parade and drank a few bottles of water. Xanthe even gave me a piece of taffy! :)
After we made it home with most of our blankets, candy, and squirt bottles, the Bazails came over! They live in Miami and have been traveling Europe (Italy this time). Alex and Lincoln are so cute and have gotten so big! Tricia and Jim came over too. Sara and Rolland looked great and very tan! It was so good to see them all!:)

Then we went over to the Dopp grandparents for a fun barbeque. It was delish! The kids played in the hot tub and kiddie pool. It was so fun!

4th of July wouldn't be the 4th of July without fireworks! I invited some friends to come watch 'em too, so I got to sit by family and friends. Best of both worlds! :)
Josh and Bill, showing his cool Nike jacket his friend made him. His initials are on the back:)

The fireworks were awesome and I'm pretty sure there weren't any major fires due to them:)
Such a fun, filled day! Happy 4th!

HOLIDAYS

I was so happy the Mijatovic family came to visit! Even though we're not related my blood, we're family! My lovely grandparents The newlyweds invited us and their friends to see the lights at Temple Square, then enjoy some pie and hot cocoa at their adorable apartment, conveniently located right by the temple. Such fun! Thanksgiving with the Siskins ....And everybody else ;)
The world is big. It can be scary. It can be a lot of things, a lot of adjectives because well, it's the WORLD. But there is so much  good  in it. Make it your mission to notice the good in every day life. One thing that you can count on is the sun. It rises, it's warm, it gives light. Things we need. Things that are good, life sustaining, bright. Happiness is not a side affect of a perfect life. Waiting to be happy is just plain silly. Happiness wants to come into your life, in fact, it already has, so acknowledge and befriend it. Make it deeper and better with gratitude, consistence and effort. The good in the world is apparent and abundant, just like happiness. Focusing on the good doesn't mean we ignore the sad stuff going on, refuse to ever watch the news, or be ignorant of pressing matters around the world. It just means that you cling to hope, never give up, fight discouragement and let the good into your life. Let the good in, put some good out, let light radiate fr...
