When we were on our trip, Coco said that Star had been missing. We got back and couldn't find her, we put up Lost Dog signs and called for her, but she was no where to be found. Then our neighbors called on Wednesday and said they'd found her body under a bush in their backyard.
I remember when I got the mug that said Home is Where the Dog is for my eighth birthday. After I opened it, my parents told me to run down to my room and see what was down there. When I got to my new, purple room Star jumped out from my big chair. I was so excited and I think she was too! My first sentence was "I want one, a puppy." I had been begging my dad for a dog since then and even though he hates them, he gave in.
Star turned out to be the perfect dog. She was the politest, nicest, cutest, most protective dog ever.
Thanks for being a great dog Star, we'll miss you.

She liked exploring the Trails with the kids

HOLIDAYS

I was so happy the Mijatovic family came to visit! Even though we're not related my blood, we're family! My lovely grandparents The newlyweds invited us and their friends to see the lights at Temple Square, then enjoy some pie and hot cocoa at their adorable apartment, conveniently located right by the temple. Such fun! Thanksgiving with the Siskins ....And everybody else ;)

Things that are good, life sustaining, bright. Happiness is not a side affect of a perfect life. Waiting to be happy is just plain silly. Happiness wants to come into your life, in fact, it already has, so acknowledge and befriend it. Make it deeper and better with gratitude, consistence and effort. The good in the world is apparent and abundant, just like happiness. Focusing on the good doesn't mean we ignore the sad stuff going on, refuse to ever watch the news, or be ignorant of pressing matters around the world. It just means that you cling to hope, never give up, fight discouragement and let the good into your life. Let the good in, put some good out, let light radiate fr...
