The other side

Well, I'm gloriously, happily, awesomely on the flip side of the AP test!
It's been a hard time in comin', but I'm so glad I took this class. Even if I didn't pass, I learned so much and now I know what to expect from college-level tests.

On May 16th my dad drove me to the church. Only kids from Davis that had the class on B days were there. We went into the gym and set up tables. There was two to a table and the rules were strict. You couldn't open your vacuum-packed multiple-choice test, or the essay prompts, or talk, or sneeze, or move your eyes slightly to the left and right; that could be considered cheating! I felt like Harry Potter, sitting there writing furiously while the "professors" watched you and the clock ticked in the front of the room. Except I didn't use a quill and no one came in on broomsticks and threw fireworks :(  So anyway, I finished the 70 multiple-choice questions, went outside the church with everyone for a break. They had big cinnomon-roll things but I didn't think my stomach could take that much food, or sugar! Then we came back in for 2 hours of essay writing. Fun! The CCOT was super hard! I will post the exact prompt later after I can't get in trouble for releasing it :) (Like I said; strict!) The DBQ was kind of hard but I got in my 3 points of views, 3 additional docs, and 3 groups!! :) The C&C was my favorite. I ended up writing 12 pages. I'm hoping I passed but by July will I really care? Besides, I'll be in Europe so I couldn't care that much! (No, I'm still going to care. A lot. :))
Thanks dad for helping me celebrate with Star Trek in 3D and a yummy smoothie! Love ya! I could not have gotten through this class without you and mom

HOLIDAYS

I was so happy the Mijatovic family came to visit! Even though we're not related my blood, we're family! My lovely grandparents The newlyweds invited us and their friends to see the lights at Temple Square, then enjoy some pie and hot cocoa at their adorable apartment, conveniently located right by the temple. Such fun! Thanksgiving with the Siskins ....And everybody else ;)
The world is big. It can be scary. It can be a lot of things, a lot of adjectives because well, it's the WORLD. But there is so much  good  in it. Make it your mission to notice the good in every day life. One thing that you can count on is the sun. It rises, it's warm, it gives light. Things we need. Things that are good, life sustaining, bright. Happiness is not a side affect of a perfect life. Waiting to be happy is just plain silly. Happiness wants to come into your life, in fact, it already has, so acknowledge and befriend it. Make it deeper and better with gratitude, consistence and effort. The good in the world is apparent and abundant, just like happiness. Focusing on the good doesn't mean we ignore the sad stuff going on, refuse to ever watch the news, or be ignorant of pressing matters around the world. It just means that you cling to hope, never give up, fight discouragement and let the good into your life. Let the good in, put some good out, let light radiate fr...
