Belgium

Yesterday we went to Belgium!! Well... I am getting ahead of myself. After breakfast we went to the French equivalent of Wal-Mart, called Auchant to help Francois, the dad, pick out some new glasses. We went shopping there too and I bought some purple pants that were 70% off. Then we had duck and ratatouille for lunch then Francois asked Ruby to say one long sentence in French. Ruby doesn't know any French so he helped her. I learned to say I am/am not happy to go to Belgium. Je ne sais pas content d`aller en Belgique. :)

Belgium was more beautiful than I even expected. It was amazing. It was a fifty minute drive and I feel asleep in the car:) We walked around looking at the shops and the things for sale on the streets. There were clothes, shoes, scarves, food, antiques, jewelry, and more. The streets are kind of like in Paris. Narrow and noisy with cobblestone and elegant houses. There were a lot of chocolate shops but I didn't buy any:(   Next time we go to a chocolate store, I'm getting some!! We went on a boat tour that was simply amazing. There are cathedrals and beautiful buildings all over. A lot of them are medieval because Belgium was very powerful during the medieval ages. The weather was very good and the sky was a pretty shade of blue. There are lots of cute cafes and stone bridges. The city square was indescribable. There was a huge clock tower building and other magnificent and old buildings with horsedrawn carriages going around and street performers. I just tried to take it all in and that's hard since it's so gorgeous! There were street performers on the violin, cello and accordion playing classical music that we recognized. It was the perfect touch:) We stopped at a cafe to get a drink before we left. I got a Coke and Ruby got a gingerale. It came in a glass bottle with a cup with one big ice cube in it. I really loved Belgium!!

Apartment 51

My roommates are the best roommates of all time. We had a dance party the other day where Emmy introduced me to the 'nae nae song'. Can you believe I'd never heard it? I know. Emmy has quite the moves too. Gentry was doing laundry, which is an event because she actually does it the right way. Cold, warm washes; darks, whites, color, reds. The works. It took a few hours, so Emmy and I stayed up with her jamming out and chatting. We got a little depressed at how ugly our living room was because we'd had FHE at a guys' apartment earlier and their apartment was amazing. Framed vinyl records, leather sofa, big-screen TV, Ikea spice holders, quotes. We were put to shame. So we decided to put up a bunch of pictures on our wall. It now holds Gentry's towing ticket, pictures, The Living Christ, Proclamation to the Family, my Broadway tickets, a map of San Francisco and more. It definitely cheers up the room. We are going to hang a banner thing up too so we can hang temp...

Good News

Senior year is almost three-fourths over. And I know fourth term is just going to fly by! Moonlight, Spring Concert, Prom, AP tests, college enrollments, Graduation! Speaking of college... I got a housing scholarship to UVU!!!! I am so excited and very surprised. I wasn't really expecting it, and when I refreshed my email on my phone, walking back into Dance Company, I jumped for joy!! The scholarship covers 2/3 of the cost for room. I also have a full tuition scholarship. There are 400 students out of the total 30,000 in the Honors program, 150 are Freshman and 36 Freshman get the housing scholarship. So fees, books, about $200 per month for the apartment and food is all I need to pay. Hopefully, the Regents Scholarship will work out and cover most of that stuff! I'm so humbled, grateful, and excited to be starting this new chapter. I think, deep down I've wanted to go to UVU since my first workshop there. Now this kind of gives me the assertion that it's the right...

Camp!

Girls Camp this year was amazing. We got home today and I'm sad it's over! But next week I have a Dance Company photo-shoot and some workshops that I'm simply so excited about! They always do an amazingly fun job:) Anyway, this year I was a YCL and in charge of Devotionals. I felt bad that I couldn't fully participate in planning since I was in Europe, but it was super fun and it all worked out. Our leader or woman in charge was Julie Karren. She is one of the most amazing people I know. She has breast cancer but did not let that get in the way of planning and attending Girls Camp as if she were Super Woman. Which she is. She gave an amazing devotional that brought the spirit so strongly. She has taken this trial and turned it into a blessing, a challenge, and something that won't stop her. I admire and love her so much! Sister Richards also helped plan the Camp. She made adorable temple-shaped sugar cookies that we ate on the way up to Payson when we stopped to s...
