last day

Today is our last full day in Europe. We're in Lisbon and have a flight to Boston and then D.C. at 2:30. We have nine and a half hours of airplane travel to look forward to! :/
Today we went to a museum with mummies and cool Egyptian and bronze age stuff. We also went up in a monument dedicated to the people who found America (the Portuguese) and an old fortress that was used for protection. The views were so pretty and the water was sparkling brightly in the heat. I got a big strawberry and Nutella gelato to cool down:)
Ruby and I are sitting in our own hotel room getting ready to go out again. That's right. Our. Own. Room. Never in my wildest dreams did I think we'd have our own room. It's never happened. With our big family someone actually fights for the spot under the desk to sleep. You have to get creative with sleeping arrangements and we do and it works. It's fun and plus there's usually free breakfast! :)
I'm sad to leave but it's time. Dorothy was right there's no place like home! I am so excited to see my family and I know I'll come back to Europe again, blaim it on my Paris-obsessed grandma:)
Adios Europe! D.C.here I come!!

    What a wonderful trip you have had, memories made that you will never forget, friendships you will never forget!     I can't believe your adventure is over! It does sound pretty great for the Dopps to all be together again though. Travel safe!

Apartment 51

My roommates are the best roommates of all time. We had a dance party the other day where Emmy introduced me to the 'nae nae song'. Can you believe I'd never heard it? I know. Emmy has quite the moves too. Gentry was doing laundry, which is an event because she actually does it the right way. Cold, warm washes; darks, whites, color, reds. The works. It took a few hours, so Emmy and I stayed up with her jamming out and chatting. We got a little depressed at how ugly our living room was because we'd had FHE at a guys' apartment earlier and their apartment was amazing. Framed vinyl records, leather sofa, big-screen TV, Ikea spice holders, quotes. We were put to shame. So we decided to put up a bunch of pictures on our wall. It now holds Gentry's towing ticket, pictures, The Living Christ, Proclamation to the Family, my Broadway tickets, a map of San Francisco and more. It definitely cheers up the room. Good News

Senior year is almost three-fourths over. And I know fourth term is just going to fly by! Moonlight, Spring Concert, Prom, AP tests, college enrollments, Graduation! Speaking of college... I got a housing scholarship to UVU!!!! I am so excited and very surprised. I wasn't really expecting it, and when I refreshed my email on my phone, walking back into Dance Company, I jumped for joy!! The scholarship covers 2/3 of the cost for room. I also have a full tuition scholarship. There are 400 students out of the total 30,000 in the Honors program, 150 are Freshman and 36 Freshman get the housing scholarship. So fees, books, about $200 per month for the apartment and food is all I need to pay. Hopefully, the Regents Scholarship will work out and cover most of that stuff! I'm so humbled, grateful, and excited to be starting this new chapter. I think, deep down I've wanted to go to UVU since my first workshop there. Camp!

Girls Camp this year was amazing. We got home today and I'm sad it's over! But next week I have a Dance Company photo-shoot and some workshops that I'm simply so excited about! They always do an amazingly fun job:) Anyway, this year I was a YCL and in charge of Devotionals. I felt bad that I couldn't fully participate in planning since I was in Europe, but it was super fun and it all worked out. Our leader or woman in charge was Julie Karren. She is one of the most amazing people I know. She has breast cancer but did not let that get in the way of planning and attending Girls Camp as if she were Super Woman. Which she is. She gave an amazing devotional that brought the spirit so strongly. She has taken this trial and turned it into a blessing, a challenge, and something that won't stop her.
