Beauty And The Beast

"Beast Week" as my mom called it was two weeks ago. I'm kind of behind.
It started out on Saturday with cast pictures and a loooong dress rehearsal. Monday; more rehearsal. All the way to opening night. We had four performances and each one got better as we went. It turned out to be a truly amazing show and I'm thankful for all the work that went into it. The directors giving countless hours to rehearse, costume people driving hours and hours to pick up rentals, dads who moved sets around, etc, etc, etc.
Lexie, Rubes and Ari and I were in it which made it fun.
I was the Enchantress, a Tavern dancer, a wolf, a napkin and a singer in a few other scenes. With the Enchantress, I came in behind a sheet Ruby and Jessica carried, covered by a big black cloak. There was gross gray hair attached to the hood, so I couldn't see much. But then after offering the rose to Dan twice, I take it off and dance in the flowing green dress. I was so glad that each performance went off without a hitch. I was scared that the cloak would catch on something, I'd trip on it, or the rose would be missing from the prop table or something like that! Luckily, everything turned out great! (Even the green glove with fake extended fingers)
The blind wolves somehow never fell off the stage. The masks sometimes fell over our eyes, so that was interesting. We just used our smell and instinct (aka adapting and quick thinking :) )
The friendships and memories made it all worth it! It went from being a beastly, chaotic show into a truly beautiful experience!

In the tavern, admiring Gaston.
SWS' dad's funeral also was apart of the week. It was a great funeral, I mean...if a funeral can be great. He was an amazing man and lived a full life! All the talks were so heartfelt and inspiring. Some beautiful memories were shared. Here's my mom's friends (since High School!!!!) Tiffany Hess, Michelle Fitzgerald and Leslie Bates. They're hilarious.

Another batch of fans, Coco and Bill.  They sure get a kick out of these things!  The Beast, Dan Harvey, is the grandson of Bill's best friend, Malcolm.  I bet Bill and Malcolm never dreamed, as young boys on the farm, that they would someday have grandchildren in the same musical!

Love her villager costume! Ellison is so cute, talented, and polite

Thanks Sarah!!!!

So my parents are off to Paris with Freestone and Tizzy. Lucky ducks! My grandparents are staying with us some of the time, but a lot of babysitting and homework is in-store for me this next week and a quarter so I was kinda stressed out. I spaced all my homework and remembered at 11 pm last night that I had a 100 question biology test, 2 Honors English assignments (That included reading) and 6 pages of math. So I woke up at 6, did it, planned to do the math during lunch and got ready in about 2.7 minutes. Luckily, I had tutorial so I went to get Algebra 2 help and finished that. Yay! And my science test turned out to be good, I could use notes and a textbook. I am so relieved right now and I think Heavenly Father helped a lot today. The Epic of Gilgamesh has nothin' on me today! :) PS Have fun in Paris guys! We'll miss you but not too much, I mean You're In Paris! :)

Happy New Year!

2014 will be a great year! It's 1:46 am right now so I will blog more tomorrow but I just can't believe it's January and the start of another brand new year! Yay for 2k14!!! On New Years Eve I went to a friends house to party! We watched Back to the Future and had treats, played games, and talked. We counted down, watched the ball drop, made fun of Miley Cyrus. There were a lot of people so it was really fun. On New Years Day we visited Nana, saw Frozen, went to Coco's and dad, mom and Ruby and I went to dinner. I'd been wanting to go to Rio Grande for awhile so we drove up to SLC. When we got there it was closed! So, change of plans, we went to Royal India in Bountiful instead. I'm so glad we did!! I love Indian food and it was delicious!! We got garlic, regular and a sweet naan and lamb sagg, coconut chicken and butter chicken and a mango lasse! Heaven. It was fun to just spend time with my parents and Ruby. They are really good about taking time to give u...
There are so many things that make up a person. I know that "things" isn't the right word, but I can't think of something that adequately describes what a person even  would  be made of. Dreams, accomplishments, interests, regrets, mistakes, wishes, relationships, etc. I love ballet. I want to teach ballet, and I want to dance ballet. It's part of who I am. But my heart also yearns for the actress side of me. The little bite of real acting that I got at the age of ten in a production of Babes in Toyland in Salt Lake City. The countless drives to Ogden for rehearsals of Music Man when I was twelve. The ten-hour dress rehearsals of Jana's plays throughout high school. I miss that. My heart yearns for the flute. The peak of my playing my Senior year when I was practicing daily and could play Carnival of Venice like a pro. When I began to see what my practicing had accomplished and considered going on to play in a symphony. I miss French. Learning an entire other ...
