Senior year is almost three-fourths over. And I know fourth term is just going to fly by! Moonlight, Spring Concert, Prom, AP tests, college enrollments, Graduation!
Speaking of college...
I got a housing scholarship to UVU!!!!
I am so excited and very surprised. I wasn't really expecting it, and when I refreshed my email on my phone, walking back into Dance Company, I jumped for joy!! The scholarship covers 2/3 of the cost for room. I also have a full tuition scholarship. There are 400 students out of the total 30,000 in the Honors program, 150 are Freshman and 36 Freshman get the housing scholarship. So fees, books, about $200 per month for the apartment and food is all I need to pay. Hopefully, the Regents Scholarship will work out and cover most of that stuff!
I'm so humbled, grateful, and excited to be starting this new chapter. I think, deep down I've wanted to go to UVU since my first workshop there. Now this kind of gives me the assertion that it's the right choice. Who knows, maybe I'll have another change of heart and go to Snow, the U or Weber, but for now- I'm a Wolverine!
Senior year catch up!
My room decor as of right now
Absolutely gorgeous sunset
View out my room after the snow storm-in February!
State Dance Company!! My classes were Muscial Theatre Dance, Ballet, and Carribean. Our edjudicated piece went well and the night performance was amazing! We performed at Ogden High instead of Weber, since Weber's stage was in use that night. The school is done in art deco and looks more like a fancy hotel or beautiful campus than a high school. Each school picked one dance to perform. I was blown away by all the dances! And when I was performing Davis' piece, choreographed by my friend Chloe, I felt a connection to it. One of those amazing stage moments you want to snapshot and keep forever.
We had a wonderful fireside (it was actually by a fire) in the Yarbrough's library. It was so good and I loved this scripture~Proverbs 4:2 that they focused on
This, my fine friends is a Dance Company lunch. Amazing. One of the best parts about being in Dance Company ;) We have one at least once a month and the moms always out-do themselves and we get to relax, eat yummy food and enjoy each others' company outside of the studio
More state pics.
Some Valentines gifts
I subbed three modern classes at Clytie's on Valentine's day. So fun!!
Swan Lake by Ballet West. Basically it was perfect and inspiring and gorgeous and wow
This is me today, I just took it. We had a "Career Day" today that consisted of a mediocre speaker speaking for one hour, 3 sessions with different adults in various occupations I'm not super interested in, and shorter class periods! So, I learned how to be a good presenter, that authors are weird, and that speaking to a thousand high school kids in a gym is really hard. He actually did do a good job, I just felt it wasn't super applicable to college or careers :) But I went home with Emily during lunch and her mom made banana bread so all is right in the world
DC performed at the basketball half-time show with a hip hop number. Let me repeat. Hip Hop. Hip. Hop.
I think we did a dang good job for a bunch of bunheads :) Thanks Jennie for coming to see us!
