Europe was a 48 day trip that included 6 countries, 8 flights, dozens of museums, dozens of cities and much more. I plan on documenting right away because I want the memories and photos in a neat, consolidated place I can print them. We'll see how long it takes-it could be months!
But, here I am home. Finally. It seems like years, but yet it's such a familiar place, I just kind of slide back into it. Sitting here at the computer at 10 pm, I feel like I'm back in high school writing an essay. But I've graduated high school, just spent almost three months in Europe without my parents, and am legally an adult! In so many ways I feel ready. College is something I've planned on doing since kindergarten. It's always been at the end of the road; a constant milestone to work toward and motivate me. Now that it's here it's strange navigating how it's changing from abstract idea to concrete reality. It's comforting too, knowing that the grueling hours of studying, late hours writing, extra time spent, hard classes taken, applications, resumes, auditions, emails and assignments were worth it. I got this Regents Scholarship which I was so relieved and grateful for! It's $2,500 per semester and it wasn't easy to get! I had to take Physics senior year, CE math, 2 consecutive years of a language, no Cs and some other requirements I can't even remember. Thank goodness for my counselors telling me about it and my awesome teachers helping me through the hard courses.
So, I have no time to really ease into Kaysville life or relax from my trip. It definitely wasn't a vacation in that we A) hiked and walked a lot. Seriously, we walked from dawn til dusk, not exaggerating. B) Was surrounded by foreign cultures I had to adapt to. Which I came to fall in love with and really enjoy living. Culture

HOLIDAYS

I was so happy the Mijatovic family came to visit! Even though we're not related my blood, we're family! My lovely grandparents The newlyweds invited us and their friends to see the lights at Temple Square, then enjoy some pie and hot cocoa at their adorable apartment, conveniently located right by the temple. Such fun! Thanksgiving with the Siskins ....And everybody else ;)
The world is big. It can be scary. It can be a lot of things, a lot of adjectives because well, it's the WORLD. But there is so much  good  in it. Make it your mission to notice the good in every day life. One thing that you can count on is the sun. It rises, it's warm, it gives light. Things we need. Things that are good, life sustaining, bright. Happiness is not a side affect of a perfect life. Waiting to be happy is just plain silly. Happiness wants to come into your life, in fact, it already has, so acknowledge and befriend it. Make it deeper and better with gratitude, consistence and effort. The good in the world is apparent and abundant, just like happiness. Focusing on the good doesn't mean we ignore the sad stuff going on, refuse to ever watch the news, or be ignorant of pressing matters around the world. It just means that you cling to hope, never give up, fight discouragement and let the good into your life. Let the good in, put some good out, let light radiate fr...
