FRIDAY! whooohooo! On Fridays, the dance department allows colorful leotards, so I pulled out my single non-black leo my mom got me (thanks mom!) And walked to class at 9 am. Modern was good, ballet was good, pointe was short, orientation to dance was good. Had lunch with my new friend Sierra then headed to a dance audition. I went for the experience and I'm so glad I did! It was for the fancy modern ensemble called Synergy. Modern is an interesting style. You have to find ways to add your personality and still keep the feel and movement of the choreography. Today was just so fun! I learned a lot from watching and I was next to Chloe, my dance friend from high school. Go numbers 18 and 19!! We find out Monday, which is a long time to wait, but I know I didn't so I'm just stressed for chloe who really wants to make it. She's a gorgeous dancer: she's got it in the bag! Going home tomorrow or tonight after the tailgate, soccer game and green out dance. I have a farewell on Sunday and I need to see Tizzy! This has been an amazing week, but also like the longest week of my life. Lots of change, new faces, lots of dance, my wisdom teeth emergency, still big cheeks, my roommate already basically falling in love with an RM she just met, events, ttying to eat once in a while, buying books, walking to campus, you get the idea.
The Help by Kathryn Stockett The Help is a great book for young adults and mature teenagers. It is education, funny and insightful. It is 444 pages, but a definite page turner. I rated it 5-stars because it is such a great book. It is basically about how unfairly African-Americans were treated in the 1950s and 60s. It changes perspective about every chapter, but it's fairly easy to follow along. It is from the point of view of 3 women from Jackson, Mississippi in the 1960's. Aibileen, Minny and Miss Skeeter are the narrators. I thought it was unique that it had more than one narrator and it allowed you to understand the story much better. Aibileen (my favorite character) is a black women who is "the Help" to Miss Leefolt. She is kind, wise and smart. Throughout the story she develops a strong bond between Miss Leefolt's little girl, Mae Mobley. Miss Leefolt is very strict and rather oblivious to Mae Mobley. She doesn't really know how to raise her, so Aibil...
