Apartment 51

My roommates are the best roommates of all time. We had a dance party the other day where Emmy introduced me to the 'nae nae song'. Can you believe I'd never heard it? I know. Emmy has quite the moves too. Gentry was doing laundry, which is an event because she actually does it the right way. Cold, warm washes; darks, whites, color, reds. The works. It took a few hours, so Emmy and I stayed up with her jamming out and chatting. We got a little depressed at how ugly our living room was because we'd had FHE at a guys' apartment earlier and their apartment was amazing. Framed vinyl records, leather sofa, big-screen TV, Ikea spice holders, quotes. We were put to shame. So we decided to put up a bunch of pictures on our wall. It now holds Gentry's towing ticket, pictures, The Living Christ, Proclamation to the Family, my Broadway tickets, a map of San Francisco and more. It definitely cheers up the room. We are going to hang a banner thing up too so we can hang temporary photos as well and decorate it with twinkle lights. The couch is beyond helping. I think it would just be a travesty to put cute pillows on such an ugly couch. So maybe a trip to IKEA, fresh flowers and some framed artwork is all we need. Although, we're poor college students so that might take all semester. But hey, music and laughter is free! And as cheesy as that all sounds, it's all we need :)

I have some auditions coming up, so wish me luck on those. I think I might as well audition for anything and everything because it's such good experience and learning opportunity!
Also, new life plan. Go to Fall Semester 2016, graduate with an Associates in Dance, then go on a mission in the spring, come back, go to BYU and be on their Folk Dance Team. Let's see how long that plan lasts :)

Also- I need ideas for easy and cheap recipes. A girl can only eat so much oatmeal, yogurt and pizza. Merci et au revoir!

  1. I love all your plans, and I love how you are continually reworking them as you evolve. Sounds great! Cheap food: toast and butter. I lived on it until I was 17, then had that year of gluttony in the dorms, then lived on rice and bacon for the next 3 years. Yummy!

  2. Love your posts and your plans. It all sounds exciting. Here's a fast and easy recipe for you (and healthy / cheapish). Canned chicken... I know, it sounds disgusting, but it's actually okay. There are big and small cans. You add the rest of the ingredients based upon the amount of chicken. Sliced celery (super cheap), and plain or vanilla greek yogurt. Mix it all up and you have an easy chicken salad you can eat plain, on lettuce leaves, or on a roll. If you want to get tricky, you can add slivered almonds, craisins, or halved grapes - basically whatever you like.

Another one is fish tacos. Buy a bag of frozen tilapia. That way you only have to cook what you want to use. Buy a package of small corn tortillas, a bag of shredded cabbage, an individualized size of plain greek yogurt (substitute for sour cream), and a bottle of lime juice. The tortillas and shredded cabbage last a while in the fridge. Broil the fish or microwave it, shred it on the tortillas, and add the cabbage, lime juice and yogurt. So good, low calorie, and pretty cheap.

Love ya. Keep the updates coming.

So my parents are off to Paris with Freestone and Tizzy. Lucky ducks! My grandparents are staying with us some of the time, but a lot of babysitting and homework is in-store for me this next week and a quarter so I was kinda stressed out. I spaced all my homework and remembered at 11 pm last night that I had a 100 question biology test, 2 Honors English assignments (That included reading) and 6 pages of math. So I woke up at 6, did it, planned to do the math during lunch and got ready in about 2.7 minutes. Luckily, I had tutorial so I went to get Algebra 2 help and finished that. Yay! And my science test turned out to be good, I could use notes and a textbook. I am so relieved right now and I think Heavenly Father helped a lot today. The Epic of Gilgamesh has nothin' on me today! :) PS Have fun in Paris guys! We'll miss you but not too much, I mean You're In Paris! :)

Happy New Year!

2014 will be a great year! It's 1:46 am right now so I will blog more tomorrow but I just can't believe it's January and the start of another brand new year! Yay for 2k14!!! On New Years Eve I went to a friends house to party! We watched Back to the Future and had treats, played games, and talked. We counted down, watched the ball drop, made fun of Miley Cyrus. There were a lot of people so it was really fun. On New Years Day we visited Nana, saw Frozen, went to Coco's and dad, mom and Ruby and I went to dinner. I'd been wanting to go to Rio Grande for awhile so we drove up to SLC. When we got there it was closed! So, change of plans, we went to Royal India in Bountiful instead. I'm so glad we did!! I love Indian food and it was delicious!! We got garlic, regular and a sweet naan and lamb sagg, coconut chicken and butter chicken and a mango lasse! Heaven. It was fun to just spend time with my parents and Ruby. They are really good about taking time to give u...
There are so many things that make up a person. I know that "things" isn't the right word, but I can't think of something that adequately describes what a person even  would  be made of. Dreams, accomplishments, interests, regrets, mistakes, wishes, relationships, etc. I love ballet. I want to teach ballet, and I want to dance ballet. It's part of who I am. But my heart also yearns for the actress side of me. The little bite of real acting that I got at the age of ten in a production of Babes in Toyland in Salt Lake City. The countless drives to Ogden for rehearsals of Music Man when I was twelve. The ten-hour dress rehearsals of Jana's plays throughout high school. I miss that. My heart yearns for the flute. The peak of my playing my Senior year when I was practicing daily and could play Carnival of Venice like a pro. When I began to see what my practicing had accomplished and considered going on to play in a symphony. I miss French. Learning an entire other ...
