Happy New Year!

The Honors Program treated us to a Jazz game! Even though they lost it was a fun night. I didn't know Howard was so cute! ;)

The Half-Time show was Red Panda. She is an Asian performer who rides a super super tall unicycle, then throws plates onto her head, from her feet and balances them. She got up to 15 plates!! The last time, she kicked five plates onto the other ten. Talk about skill and balance! Jayden and Dallin, friends we were sitting with, were freaking out. It was so funny.

Honors also got us tickets to Iconic Classics by Ballet West at Capitol Theatre. It was a gala and opening night, so everyone was all fancy and they served sparkling cider and treats in the lobby at the end. I loved the performance!! In Symphony in C I wanted them to eat up the stage and travel a little more, but it was still stunning. The Kylian one, On The Overgrown Path was so moving and gorgeous. Ballet West is really rocking the contemporary ballets lately. On The Town was just plain fun.

I had to take some selfies because doing my hair does not happen very often. By the time I am out of class and out of a bun, it's pretty pointless.

Making chocolate covered pretzels with candycane bits and personal pizzas. We decided to wait til another day to make the chocolate chip cookies :) And of course listened to Christmas music

This past weekend I went to Ririe-Woodbury at The Egyptian Theater in Park City. We stayed at The Ranch that night and enjoyed the fire, change of scenery, mountains, and treats.

It was Ari's birthday on November 4 and I was sad I couldn't see her that day, but I came home later in the month, and mailed her a birthday card. She takes adorable selfies when I come home ;) :)

I am forever grateful for her spunky, enthusiastic, fiery, determined, funny, giving personality. She is one of my best friends and I love her so much. She has taught me so much about basically everything. The gospel, life, being happy, staying positive, Junior High slang, and much more

It was interesting to hear some thoughts from a few people that have no ties to France. Some of what they said didn't reflect the French culture per say, but there thoughts were beautiful and it made me realize how much people naturally want to empathize. Even if they can't, people deeply sympathize for one another, and our bond in humanity is strong and powerful. Even if hate exists, love always wins and it is definitely more prevalent. I was deeply hurt and saddened by the events that happened in Paris. A city I feel like a part of me belongs to. Where I bumped shoulders with Parisians and tried to speak their language. Where they shared their city with me and all it's impossibly beautiful sights, buildings, artwork, smells, food and sunsets. Where I watched the Eiffel Tower twinkle at dusk by my sister's side. I have some of my very best memories in that city and some very dear friends. Trajan, Micaela and her parents, and Coco were (still are) in Paris when it happened. It hit pretty close to home. But I know the people of Paris are strong and focused on living life fully. They are masters at remembering and living to honor the dead.
