Stockholm

This was the trip of a lifetime. It was amazing to go with two of my best friends-Emily and Ashley, and two of my very best friends-my parents. Staying in Stockholm the first and last nights were magical and such a good idea! I loved the cozy Christmas feel and the Scandinavian details everywhere.
After a quick drive to St George, a picnic at Swig, and then another short drive to Las Vegas, we boarded our flight to Europe! Ash, Em and I were practically pinching ourselves every other minute. We were so excited and could hardly believe this trip was actually happening!
A really nice man seated next to Emily moved to the middle seat so she could talk to Ash and I (who were seated next to each other) more easily. What a kind gesture!!
The flight was long because we all couldn't sleep, but we got up the energy for a half a day in Stockholm when we landed! We quickly freshened up at the hotel (which was in the airport-talk about convenience) and got on the us headed to town. Falafels and gyros and Coke rejuvenated us, then it was off to the Christmas Markets. The wooden stalls organized in the square were adorable. There were soaps, ornaments, candy, varm glog (hot cider or wine), postcards, mittens, scarfs, and more. There was even a Christmas tree lit up in the center.
After buying some postcards and little souvenirs, we wandered around the city. We found a bridge with a gorgeous view, the Royal Palace, another big tree, a beautiful hotel, and a picturesque ice skating rink. Those Swedes are much more graceful on the ice than any given group of Americans!
The bus ride home was so warm and cozy, I think we all dozed off for awhile.
Then we had McDonald's at the airport before going to bed. *McDonald's is much better in Europe than in America, also we just wanted a snack, and it's cheap! hahaha
Ashley and I squeezed into one bed and in the morning nonchalantly informed me that I elbowed her in the night. Oops! Sorry Ash

Swig!

Doing palates in the airport

Crossing the river into Gamla Stan-the markets opened the DAY we got there!

And the next day-ROMA!

So my parents are off to Paris with Freestone and Tizzy. Lucky ducks! My grandparents are staying with us some of the time, but a lot of babysitting and homework is in-store for me this next week and a quarter so I was kinda stressed out. I spaced all my homework and remembered at 11 pm last night that I had a 100 question biology test, 2 Honors English assignments (That included reading) and 6 pages of math. So I woke up at 6, did it, planned to do the math during lunch and got ready in about 2.7 minutes. Luckily, I had tutorial so I went to get Algebra 2 help and finished that. Yay! And my science test turned out to be good, I could use notes and a textbook. I am so relieved right now and I think Heavenly Father helped a lot today. The Epic of Gilgamesh has nothin' on me today! :) PS Have fun in Paris guys! We'll miss you but not too much, I mean You're In Paris! :)

Happy New Year!

2014 will be a great year! It's 1:46 am right now so I will blog more tomorrow but I just can't believe it's January and the start of another brand new year! Yay for 2k14!!! On New Years Eve I went to a friends house to party! We watched Back to the Future and had treats, played games, and talked. We counted down, watched the ball drop, made fun of Miley Cyrus. There were a lot of people so it was really fun. On New Years Day we visited Nana, saw Frozen, went to Coco's and dad, mom and Ruby and I went to dinner. I'd been wanting to go to Rio Grande for awhile so we drove up to SLC. When we got there it was closed! So, change of plans, we went to Royal India in Bountiful instead. I'm so glad we did!! I love Indian food and it was delicious!! We got garlic, regular and a sweet naan and lamb sagg, coconut chicken and butter chicken and a mango lasse! Heaven. It was fun to just spend time with my parents and Ruby. They are really good about taking time to give u...
There are so many things that make up a person. I know that "things" isn't the right word, but I can't think of something that adequately describes what a person even  would  be made of. Dreams, accomplishments, interests, regrets, mistakes, wishes, relationships, etc. I love ballet. I want to teach ballet, and I want to dance ballet. It's part of who I am. But my heart also yearns for the actress side of me. The little bite of real acting that I got at the age of ten in a production of Babes in Toyland in Salt Lake City. The countless drives to Ogden for rehearsals of Music Man when I was twelve. The ten-hour dress rehearsals of Jana's plays throughout high school. I miss that. My heart yearns for the flute. The peak of my playing my Senior year when I was practicing daily and could play Carnival of Venice like a pro. When I began to see what my practicing had accomplished and considered going on to play in a symphony. I miss French. Learning an entire other ...
