ALOHA HAWAII part 1

Marukame Udon was our first stop on the island.  My mom is a bit obsessed

Trying new, foreign food in the form of curry noodles and deep fried you name it?? Yes PLEASE

I slept in at the hotel while the rest walked about 4 miles to Leonard's for some sugary goodness. I felt a little like a princess.

My favorite person to be at beaches with, sitting next to on a plane, scanning passports, getting in fights with, crossing oceans, talking about deep stuff, watching sunsets and laughing with. Gosh I'm going to miss her on my mission. Ruby-we better do one last trip just for old times! ;)  No really look at Skyscanner right now I saw a trip for.....okay just text me

I tried to stop my dad from doing this, but he did it. He bought a pizza box full of nachos for sixteen bucks. It was the kind of nachos we make at home-store bought cheese, canned salsa. We laughed so hard and the "Nacho Incident" was an inside joke and source of teasing for my dad throughout the rest of the trip.
The Hyatt also offered free classes in lei making, hula and ukulele. Auntie April, the teacher, was a hysterical combination of impatient, sarcastic, curt, nice, talkative, grandmotherly and mean teacherness..... it was highly entertaining. After beginning out the class making fun of us and being rude about the schedule, she said "Now lei making is an act of love and the circle represents the feelings of kindness you feel in making one." I about died. It was so ironically hysterical.

As some of you may know, Ruby and I are quite the traveling companions. Sometimes we refer to each other as Mary-Kate and Ashley. (I'm Mary-Kate, Ruby's Ashley)  On several occasions we've looked at each other, bewildered, and said "We are so much cooler than Mary-Kate and Ashley." Walking into our resort hotel was one of those moments. We don't need hollywood or flings with boys or a private jet, we're the real Mary-Kate and Ashley! Golda Cristine and Ruby!!

Free and Ari got a brand spankin' new Swatch that are super chic, and took lots of trips to the Swatch store to decide on. I decided to wait until I get my call to buy one

View from our room. Life was goooooooooood.
I look at this and think YAY!
Spam musubi.

My mom and her deep love for bacon/avacado spam wrapped in seaweed.
Araceli made this bikini out of a one-piece. I never thought I'd wear a bikini, but I wore it on the first day because it was vintage-y and yellow and I'm 18
Oh look, Marukame Udon again!
I do not know why I look so astonished

HOLIDAYS

I was so happy the Mijatovic family came to visit! Even though we're not related my blood, we're family! My lovely grandparents The newlyweds invited us and their friends to see the lights at Temple Square, then enjoy some pie and hot cocoa at their adorable apartment, conveniently located right by the temple. Such fun! Thanksgiving with the Siskins ....And everybody else ;)
The world is big. It can be scary. It can be a lot of things, a lot of adjectives because well, it's the WORLD. But there is so much  good  in it. Make it your mission to notice the good in every day life. One thing that you can count on is the sun. It rises, it's warm, it gives light. Things we need. Things that are good, life sustaining, bright. Happiness is not a side affect of a perfect life. Waiting to be happy is just plain silly. Happiness wants to come into your life, in fact, it already has, so acknowledge and befriend it. Make it deeper and better with gratitude, consistence and effort. The good in the world is apparent and abundant, just like happiness. Focusing on the good doesn't mean we ignore the sad stuff going on, refuse to ever watch the news, or be ignorant of pressing matters around the world. It just means that you cling to hope, never give up, fight discouragement and let the good into your life. Let the good in, put some good out, let light radiate fr...
