Temple Square

After driving home from Moab, we went to a Thai restaurant on 700 South. It was delicious!!
I wanted to walk around Temple Square because I hadn't seen the spring flowers yet

My dad and I picked Araceli up from her orchestra dress rehearsal and returned to Temple Square for a beautiful dusk evening that made the temple glow
What will I ever do without her??

We talked to two sisters earlier in the evening, one from Australia, the other from South Africa. They were incredibly friendly and gave me some great missionary advice. We watched some missionary videos in the Visitors' Center (they're new and located in the very front! They are awesome!) When we walked in I saw the pictures of the missionaries on the outside of the theater room where the videos are projected. I said to my dad "They look really familiar! I think I know them." Then I realized they were the missionaries from The District! The District is an LDS video series that interviews and films a few companionships throughout their service in San Diego California.

After watching the videos, we wandered around the perimeter of the temple, talking about when Araceli would get married. She was thinking eighteen. I said "Araceli. That is in 3 years. NO."
"Oh my gosh! Three years? Okay ya I am not getting married then."
hahahahaha. As we were walking, a sister came hurrying up to us and asked if I was going to Hong Kong. She was from there and had heard the other sisters say that I was indeed called there. When I told her I was speaking Cantonese, she gave me a big smile and a sympathetic hug and said "You can do it!"
I told her I had no experience speaking Chinese and that I took French all through high school. Then her companion said she was from France! Burgundy, France! They were so sweet and so encouraging and excited for me. What a cool tender mercy to meet these two! The Lord truly is mindful of every one of us, at every second.

Apartment 51

My roommates are the best roommates of all time. We had a dance party the other day where Emmy introduced me to the 'nae nae song'. Can you believe I'd never heard it? I know. Emmy has quite the moves too. Gentry was doing laundry, which is an event because she actually does it the right way. Cold, warm washes; darks, whites, color, reds. The works. It took a few hours, so Emmy and I stayed up with her jamming out and chatting. We got a little depressed at how ugly our living room was because we'd had FHE at a guys' apartment earlier and their apartment was amazing. Framed vinyl records, leather sofa, big-screen TV, Ikea spice holders, quotes. We were put to shame. So we decided to put up a bunch of pictures on our wall. It now holds Gentry's towing ticket, pictures, The Living Christ, Proclamation to the Family, my Broadway tickets, a map of San Francisco and more. It definitely cheers up the room. We are going to hang a banner thing up too so we can hang temp...

Good News

Senior year is almost three-fourths over. And I know fourth term is just going to fly by! Moonlight, Spring Concert, Prom, AP tests, college enrollments, Graduation! Speaking of college... I got a housing scholarship to UVU!!!! I am so excited and very surprised. I wasn't really expecting it, and when I refreshed my email on my phone, walking back into Dance Company, I jumped for joy!! The scholarship covers 2/3 of the cost for room. I also have a full tuition scholarship. There are 400 students out of the total 30,000 in the Honors program, 150 are Freshman and 36 Freshman get the housing scholarship. So fees, books, about $200 per month for the apartment and food is all I need to pay. Hopefully, the Regents Scholarship will work out and cover most of that stuff! I'm so humbled, grateful, and excited to be starting this new chapter. I think, deep down I've wanted to go to UVU since my first workshop there. Now this kind of gives me the assertion that it's the right...

Camp!

Girls Camp this year was amazing. We got home today and I'm sad it's over! But next week I have a Dance Company photo-shoot and some workshops that I'm simply so excited about! They always do an amazingly fun job:) Anyway, this year I was a YCL and in charge of Devotionals. I felt bad that I couldn't fully participate in planning since I was in Europe, but it was super fun and it all worked out. Our leader or woman in charge was Julie Karren. She is one of the most amazing people I know. She has breast cancer but did not let that get in the way of planning and attending Girls Camp as if she were Super Woman. Which she is. She gave an amazing devotional that brought the spirit so strongly. She has taken this trial and turned it into a blessing, a challenge, and something that won't stop her. I admire and love her so much! Sister Richards also helped plan the Camp. She made adorable temple-shaped sugar cookies that we ate on the way up to Payson when we stopped to s...
