The trip all began with a Frontrunner ride, Costa Vida with my father, and a roadtrip the next day to Fort Collins, Colorado. I really loved Fort Collins! I only spent a few hours there, but it was so hip and lively. I love my parents. Who else would encourage me to buy plane tickets at 1 am, drive me 8 hours to the airport, and find the coolest places to visit along the way? I love how cosmopolitan they are, and how much they love their roles in life.
Not quite sure this cathedral's time period, and it's not public because it's fallen into disrepair. Such a tragedy. I'm guessing Byzantine, maybe Romanesque
This is literally a French cottage. It started snowing outside and I just enjoyed the ambiance, piano music, and fact that I was finally in FRANCE! It was interesting looking around this room; French colonialism was so apparent in even the decor. Evidence of syncretism is very apparent in France and England. Colonial expansion irrevocably changed all cultures involved.
Mrgaux made us dinner and we watched a film while the wind went crazy outside. We watched Cheaper by the Dozen in English. Olympe's English has improved sooooooo much since I first met her.
I slept in Guillaume's room and I loved these two original paintings in the room, which Olympe's aunt painted!!!! She taught art in Paris for years.
My future! HOPEFULLY. In the Palais-des-Beaux-Arts, there was some installation work in progress and I hope that someday I will be overseeing stuff like that as museum curator.
Chloe's place is so darling and quite spacious for French standards. We had a lovely dinner and chatted about current events, foreign affairs, music, Margaux' law school decisions, Olympe's future flat, my exchange to New Jersey, and Chloe's boss and boyfriend. Oh and memories from when O and C were in America of course. I think the next Fab 5 meeting place is NYC!
