Beautiful People

A few weeks ago, with the thought of a dreadfully long flight and nothing to do, I ran to the airport's bookstore and quickly bought a few magazines. I was absolutely appalled at some of the articles and "good advice." It focused on such material and silly things and I honestly couldn't believe what the interviewers focused on and how much they glamorized laziness and selfishness. Every page said "Be yourself, don't care what anyone else thinks. Take care of YOU." Then on the same page gave tips on how to be more like Bella Thorne or perfect Katy Perry's eyeliner. Okay yes, of course be yourself and be proud of how unique you are! But you can still serve others, look past yourself and focus on improving yourself in a more constructive way. Beauty comes from within and I think true beauty comes from a knowledge of who you are and a desire to improve yourself and those around you. So instead of getting on my soap box, here are some women that have tr...

ALOHA HAWAII part 1

Marukame Udon was our first stop on the island.  My mom is a bit obsessed Trying new, foreign food in the form of curry noodles and deep fried you name it?? Yes PLEASE I slept in at the hotel while the rest walked about 4 miles to Leonard's for some sugary goodness. I felt a little like a princess.  My favorite person to be at beaches with, sitting next to on a plane, scanning passports, getting in fights with, crossing oceans, talking about deep stuff, watching sunsets and laughing with. Gosh I'm going to miss her on my mission. Ruby-we better do one last trip just for old times! ;)  No really look at Skyscanner right now I saw a trip for.....okay just text me I tried to stop my dad from doing this, but he did it. He bought a pizza box full of nachos for sixteen bucks. It was the kind of nachos we make at home-store bought cheese, canned salsa. We laughed so hard and the "Nacho Incident" was an inside joke and sourc...

ALOHA HAWAII part 2

This trip was a result of.... A) My parent's quick obsession with Hawaii after going there for the first time last February B) Freestone's decision not to do ballroom and thus save the money that would fund the trip C) Extremely cheap airfare D) Altogether the Dopps' craziness and need to travel E) Me getting a full ride scholarship ;)  I mean it did save a lot of money!! Me getting to go was a result of my reminding the parents that "This will be the last big family trip I can go on before my mission!"    However, when my mom wrote on Instagram that it was *probably* the last before the mission, everyone mocked her   hahahaha. Well ya never know, I'm an adult, Ruby likes to travel and I have never been to St. Louis.... But this trip ended up being more than just a trip. It was a chance for me to rejuvenate, reconnect with my family, spend quality time with them, learn about other cultures, relax, talk, eat real+really yummy food, and be adventurous an...
