Moods

Uneven, small cliffs of sand the color of clean rust drown the beach. The water comes in quickly and rolls back in erratic waves. Hard, palm-shaped rocks litter the stretch of saltwater-soaked sand. Dead carcases of clams, crabs, and sand-dollars lay waiting to be carried back to the deep water behind. The wind tosses up grains of broken sandcastles and harsh rays of sunlight.

The sun hangs suspended in the sky by the seagulls and glow that surround it. The waves roll back and forth in a familiar, yet different way as they continue their ancient song of water. Pebbles the color of Athena's eyes frame Disney-colored seashells. The oval oyster shells have nautical, fiery rainbows shining inside their peeling ebony bodies. Mint, lunar white, mahogany, and dream blue sea-glass are casually placed amist the other treasures from the Sea. Swirling masses of seaweed reach onto the airy crest of waves' last memory. Children, with the help of laughter and red buckets build sandcastles near the pier, and splash away their sunscreen and worries.

How different were the moods? Which beach would you rather be at?

Good News

Senior year is almost three-fourths over. And I know fourth term is just going to fly by! Moonlight, Spring Concert, Prom, AP tests, college enrollments, Graduation! Speaking of college... I got a housing scholarship to UVU!!!! I am so excited and very surprised. I wasn't really expecting it, and when I refreshed my email on my phone, walking back into Dance Company, I jumped for joy!! The scholarship covers 2/3 of the cost for room. I also have a full tuition scholarship. There are 400 students out of the total 30,000 in the Honors program, 150 are Freshman and 36 Freshman get the housing scholarship. So fees, books, about $200 per month for the apartment and food is all I need to pay. Hopefully, the Regents Scholarship will work out and cover most of that stuff! I'm so humbled, grateful, and excited to be starting this new chapter. I think, deep down I've wanted to go to UVU since my first workshop there. Now this kind of gives me the assertion that it's the right...

Help!

Since I'm making the important college decision in a few months, give me some advice! What was your favorite part of your college experience? Do you feel the one you attended was the best choice? Did you stick to the major you went in declaring? If you lived in a dorm, how was it? Thanks!

Apartment 51

My roommates are the best roommates of all time. We had a dance party the other day where Emmy introduced me to the 'nae nae song'. Can you believe I'd never heard it? I know. Emmy has quite the moves too. Gentry was doing laundry, which is an event because she actually does it the right way. Cold, warm washes; darks, whites, color, reds. The works. It took a few hours, so Emmy and I stayed up with her jamming out and chatting. We got a little depressed at how ugly our living room was because we'd had FHE at a guys' apartment earlier and their apartment was amazing. Framed vinyl records, leather sofa, big-screen TV, Ikea spice holders, quotes. We were put to shame. So we decided to put up a bunch of pictures on our wall. It now holds Gentry's towing ticket, pictures, The Living Christ, Proclamation to the Family, my Broadway tickets, a map of San Francisco and more. It definitely cheers up the room. We are going to hang a banner thing up too so we can hang temp...
