In my big extended family, Memorial Day=Lagoon Day! The Sunday before Memorial Day is when we visit the graves, leave flowers, then have a spaghetti dinner at my house. My grandma has been going to Lagoon on this day since she was little, so it's a fun family tradition. We got their before it opened and dad, Ruby, and Ari went to hit the new ride; Air Race before the line got too long. Xanthe wasn't tall enough to ride it, so I went on some other rides with her. Her favorite ride is Bombora and the Jumping Chinese Dragon. Tolly loves the whales and I even took him on Ladybug Bop. His face was priceless! He didn't cry, but when we went down he looked worried and tightened up his mouth. He said that it tickled his tummy. Even Tizzy went on one ride, the Little Tidalwave. It almost put her to sleep! One of the best parts of Lagoon Day are grandma's chocolate chews, delish!

9th grade Lagoon Day was just as fun. I went over to my friend Alexa's house to have a huge crepe breakfast that was amazing! Ella, Alex, Denali, Brynn, Casey, Evyn, Kylie, Kenna, and Bethany were my "lagoon group" I guess you could say. I was so glad we stayed together there were some weird people there. Some looked a ton older than 9th graders, and let's just say most of the girls' outfits were hardly outfits at all. We laughed about how obvious it was that we were the Nice, Mormon Girls'. We stood out, but in a good way.
Oh, and I finally went on Wicked for the first time! I closed my eyes the whole time and was terrified, but still did it. I didn't go on Colossus because I've heard so many people faint on the second up-side-down loop, and I don't like passing out. My friend even bribed me with rasberry-filled chocolate and flowers, but I just couldn't do it. Maybe next time! It was a really fun day!
*Note for future 9th graders: Bring a home lunch filled with small, yummy snacks you can eat in line. The lines for the food at Lagoon were ridiculously long, and cut into our ride-time.

Good News

Senior year is almost three-fourths over. And I know fourth term is just going to fly by! Moonlight, Spring Concert, Prom, AP tests, college enrollments, Graduation! Speaking of college... I got a housing scholarship to UVU!!!! I am so excited and very surprised. I wasn't really expecting it, and when I refreshed my email on my phone, walking back into Dance Company, I jumped for joy!! The scholarship covers 2/3 of the cost for room. I also have a full tuition scholarship. There are 400 students out of the total 30,000 in the Honors program, 150 are Freshman and 36 Freshman get the housing scholarship. So fees, books, about $200 per month for the apartment and food is all I need to pay. Hopefully, the Regents Scholarship will work out and cover most of that stuff! I'm so humbled, grateful, and excited to be starting this new chapter. I think, deep down I've wanted to go to UVU since my first workshop there. Now this kind of gives me the assertion that it's the right...

Help!

Since I'm making the important college decision in a few months, give me some advice! What was your favorite part of your college experience? Do you feel the one you attended was the best choice? Did you stick to the major you went in declaring? If you lived in a dorm, how was it? Thanks!

Apartment 51

My roommates are the best roommates of all time. We had a dance party the other day where Emmy introduced me to the 'nae nae song'. Can you believe I'd never heard it? I know. Emmy has quite the moves too. Gentry was doing laundry, which is an event because she actually does it the right way. Cold, warm washes; darks, whites, color, reds. The works. It took a few hours, so Emmy and I stayed up with her jamming out and chatting. We got a little depressed at how ugly our living room was because we'd had FHE at a guys' apartment earlier and their apartment was amazing. Framed vinyl records, leather sofa, big-screen TV, Ikea spice holders, quotes. We were put to shame. So we decided to put up a bunch of pictures on our wall. It now holds Gentry's towing ticket, pictures, The Living Christ, Proclamation to the Family, my Broadway tickets, a map of San Francisco and more. It definitely cheers up the room. We are going to hang a banner thing up too so we can hang temp...
