Day 2

Shopping at UNI QLO (as in unique clothing), such a cool store!

Yum!
We went to a fancy Mediterranean restaurant; Bouledsud. I got a watermellon salad, delicious ravioli and chocolate gelatto and cake. Mmmm!
We shopped along 5th Avenue a bit and went into Tiffany's! So pretty and so expensive! We also went in Sahk's 5th Avenue which was cool. We didn't buy anything at either, but luckily there was an H &M and UNI QLO where I bought some cute clothes:)
Gorgeous view!

We went to MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) and lucked out with the free Friday night deal. We favorite was the Starry Night by Van Gogh that was there!

And then my favorite part of the trip....
NEWSIES!
The theatre was of course gorgeous just like the Mary Poppins one and we were in the front rows of the balcony which were perfect! The sets were really creative and the actors were unbelievable. We had a few understudy performers but they were just as good as the other people I'm sure. Jack Kelly was amazing! All the dancers/Newsies were fantastically marvelous! The choreography was so impressive and I couldn't believe how great the dancers were. I loved Seize the Day and the tap number in King of New York. I wanted to get up on the stage and start dancing and singing so bad!! :) Someday...
After the show I bought a Newsies tote and one of the workers told us the cast would be out there giving autographs. We waited by the stage door and most of the cast came out! I. was. so. excited.
We even talked to a lady whose son played the Newsie, Romeo. He was only 17! His mom was really nice, and she had to move to New York just so he could be in it! We got pictures with our favorite dancer; Ryan (aka Specs) and Andy (aka Romeo)
They gave papers to the audience that we could write our headline on. These were some of the ones from previous shows

Andy, can you tell he's nice? :)
We could tell Ryan was ballet-trained and he did a bunch of fouettes in one number and had amazing extension and jumps! I'm mad I'm blurry, but it was awesome to meet him!!

That's the guy who played Jack Kelly:D
I was shaking I was so excited!

After all that we went to a pizza place and I had my first slice of New York pizza. It was so delicious!
That was like the best day of my life!

There are so many things that make up a person. I know that "things" isn't the right word, but I can't think of something that adequately describes what a person even  would  be made of. Dreams, accomplishments, interests, regrets, mistakes, wishes, relationships, etc. I love ballet. I want to teach ballet, and I want to dance ballet. It's part of who I am. But my heart also yearns for the actress side of me. The little bite of real acting that I got at the age of ten in a production of Babes in Toyland in Salt Lake City. The countless drives to Ogden for rehearsals of Music Man when I was twelve. The ten-hour dress rehearsals of Jana's plays throughout high school. I miss that. My heart yearns for the flute. The peak of my playing my Senior year when I was practicing daily and could play Carnival of Venice like a pro. When I began to see what my practicing had accomplished and considered going on to play in a symphony. I miss French. Learning an entire other ...

Places

California is warm, humid. It is cool mornings of dolphins emerging from salt water, and surfers catching the dusty turquoise waves. Montana is earthy, wild. It is shy deer, proud bears, and lazy buffalo. It is walking around in cowgirl boots to town, and riding horses through dry grass. San Fransisco is bold, fun. It is the golden gate bridge spanning your imagination and adventure. It is China Town; red, gold, jade. Paris is rich, beautiful. It is modern galleries, and centuries old cathedrals. It is walking, crepe in hand, to a new place that hundreds of years ago, a King walked too.It is watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle like a new constellation that was made just for you. Idaho is comfortable, familiar. It is sitting by your cousin roasting marsh mellows and listening to the river and the crickets.  Utah is different, scenic. It is hot summers, and snowy winters. It is looking at a pink smear of sky, glowing like a constant candle behind navy and ivory mountains. It is ho...
The Help by Kathryn Stockett The Help is a great book for young adults and mature teenagers. It is education, funny and insightful. It is 444 pages, but a definite page turner. I rated it 5-stars because it is such a great book. It is basically about how unfairly African-Americans were treated in the 1950s and 60s. It changes perspective about every chapter, but it's fairly easy to follow along. It is from the point of view of 3 women from Jackson, Mississippi in the 1960's. Aibileen, Minny and Miss Skeeter are the narrators. I thought it was unique that it had more than one narrator and it allowed you to understand the story much better. Aibileen (my favorite character) is a black women who is "the Help" to Miss Leefolt. She is kind, wise and smart. Throughout the story she develops a strong bond between Miss Leefolt's little girl, Mae Mobley. Miss Leefolt is very strict and rather  oblivious to Mae Mobley. She doesn't really know how to raise her, so Aibil...
