Presidency Retreat

All the Presidency members of Young Womens and Mens went up to the Uintahs for a little 'retreat.' It was basically a planning and training camp for a night and we had to wake up at 6:30 am! It was still so much fun. We learned more about our calling and planned activities for the next 6 months. The leaders had activities and lessons ready and the food was yummy. My favorite part was going for a walk with the Priests, Teachers, and Mia Maids. It was dark and the stars were so gorgeous. I even saw a shooting star! Then a leader talked to us about spiritual things and the spirit was so strong. We walked back without any flashlights, thinking about how Heavenly Father has literally and symbolically put stars and the moon in the universe to give us enough light to follow the path and make it back. My friends in the ward are some of my best friends and I'm again so lucky to have them. I think part of it is that we get to spend so much spiritual time together through things like this.
I really didn't sleep at all but when I got home a went to ballet, and I have a party tonight with all my friends who aren't old enough to go to Homecoming tonight. :)

The view from the Taylors' cabin was amazing, especially with the changing leaves:)

HOLIDAYS

I was so happy the Mijatovic family came to visit! Even though we're not related my blood, we're family! My lovely grandparents The newlyweds invited us and their friends to see the lights at Temple Square, then enjoy some pie and hot cocoa at their adorable apartment, conveniently located right by the temple. Such fun! Thanksgiving with the Siskins ....And everybody else ;)
The world is big. It can be scary. It can be a lot of things, a lot of adjectives because well, it's the WORLD. But there is so much  good  in it. Make it your mission to notice the good in every day life. One thing that you can count on is the sun. It rises, it's warm, it gives light. Things we need. Things that are good, life sustaining, bright. Happiness is not a side affect of a perfect life. Waiting to be happy is just plain silly. Happiness wants to come into your life, in fact, it already has, so acknowledge and befriend it. Make it deeper and better with gratitude, consistence and effort. The good in the world is apparent and abundant, just like happiness. Focusing on the good doesn't mean we ignore the sad stuff going on, refuse to ever watch the news, or be ignorant of pressing matters around the world. It just means that you cling to hope, never give up, fight discouragement and let the good into your life. Let the good in, put some good out, let light radiate fr...
