On the tenth day of Christmas

December gave to me....
a failed attempt at making brownies
I made these with Emily and Jess. I swear we followed the recipe exactly and it still turned out wrong. The icing and sprinkles helped a little but the aesthetic just wasn't for to give to our awesome guy friends. So off to Sugar Daisy Bakery we went. The boys loved the cupcakes and we went back to Emily's to eat some of our "Christmas Mush."
Later, like the super cool cats we are, Emily and I watched A Very Brady Christmas at my house and talked about life and got really tired and crazy.

I'm so thankful for the safety and security I have in where I live. I'm so blessed to live in a few country and in such a nice house.
But, most importantly, I'm grateful for the safety and comfort I feel from the gospel. It is my rock and my compass. I never feel lost and alone because I'm not. Christ is always there. The church has helped me understand and feel the spirit of Christ. Christ's mission on earth was so amazing. He healed, taught, atoned, forgave and loved. I'm so grateful for His example and willingness to succor me and to bear my burdens.

HOLIDAYS

I was so happy the Mijatovic family came to visit! Even though we're not related my blood, we're family! Such fun! Thanksgiving with the Siskins ....And everybody else ;)
The world is big. It can be scary. It can be a lot of things, a lot of adjectives because well, it's the WORLD. But there is so much  good  in it. Things that are good, life sustaining, bright. Happiness is not a side affect of a perfect life. Waiting to be happy is just plain silly. Happiness wants to come into your life, in fact, it already has, so acknowledge and befriend it. Make it deeper and better with gratitude, consistence and effort. The good in the world is apparent and abundant, just like happiness. Focusing on the good doesn't mean we ignore the sad stuff going on, refuse to ever watch the news, or be ignorant of pressing matters around the world. It just means that you cling to hope, never give up, fight discouragement and let the good into your life. Let the good in, put some good out, let light radiate fr...
