You need a little chaos in your soul to give birth to a dancing star ~Friedrich Nietzche

Doesn't that quote just give you chills? Since I'm a dance major, it really applied and hit me when I first read it. But really, couldn't it apply to everyone? Everyone needs that inner fire, the unorganized but driven, passionate part of their souls.
One of my ballet teachers explains it as a dragon, sleeping below your ribs, ready to be awakened. I love that image because it makes me want to take initiative, to be strong, to let go of fear, and be a little wild. It's exhilarating, and freeing for a girl like me to tap into that more powerful, tenacious part of myself.
For me, dancing lights that inner fire. I feel free to express myself and I feel vibrant and strong. Sometimes it's strange to have what used to be my "hobby" and "outlet" be my focus of study and possible career. You have to balance the academic, progressive part of it with the passion and pure love of it. It's a fun balance to try to master.

HOLIDAYS

I was so happy the Mijatovic family came to visit! Even though we're not related my blood, we're family! My lovely grandparents The newlyweds invited us and their friends to see the lights at Temple Square, then enjoy some pie and hot cocoa at their adorable apartment, conveniently located right by the temple. Such fun! Thanksgiving with the Siskins ....And everybody else ;)

Things that are good, life sustaining, bright. Happiness is not a side affect of a perfect life. Waiting to be happy is just plain silly. Happiness wants to come into your life, in fact, it already has, so acknowledge and befriend it. Make it deeper and better with gratitude, consistence and effort. The good in the world is apparent and abundant, just like happiness. Focusing on the good doesn't mean we ignore the sad stuff going on, refuse to ever watch the news, or be ignorant of pressing matters around the world. It just means that you cling to hope, never give up, fight discouragement and let the good into your life. Let the good in, put some good out, let light radiate fr...
