I rearranged my room and am LOVING having the Hong Kong flag in it. Seeing it every day makes my mission seem a little more real :)

I made my roommates dinner for the last supper Thursday during the week of Easter. This candied walnut, cranberry, spinach, pear, feta salad was a hit.
Sammy invited me into her room so we could watch an especially beautiful sunset. Her room, although closest to the noisy highway, has an awesome view.
Bowling! I literally hit ZERO pins, then on the last three rounds got STRIKES every. time. Crazy!
My Easter basket! I love my Swatch and am so excited to use my shock/water/freeze proof camera in Hong Kong!

MoTab singing The Messiah
My Swatch and pillow pet from the Easter Bunny ;)
Winco win.
While Ruby was in Amsterdam, I saw this little scene and thought it was like a teeny tiny taste of Holland, with the bike and tulips. I love campus!
Fav breakfast currently
I still can't believe I am going to know Cantonese in a few months
Mailing my old passport in for a new one. Getting a passport renewed before it expires, after you're 16 is kind of complicated. Hopefully I get my old one back! So many memories!!
Utah is nailing Spring right now and I hope it keeps up
Sammy made SO many cookies and brownies for her Trio BBQ and our visiting teaching people. Then no one came to the BBQ and our appointment with VT people got switched. So...we ate a lot of cookies, and gave away a lot. But still ate a lot.

Only a few more weeks of Orem apartment living!!!

There are so many things that make up a person. I know that "things" isn't the right word, but I can't think of something that adequately describes what a person even  would  be made of. Dreams, accomplishments, interests, regrets, mistakes, wishes, relationships, etc. I love ballet. I want to teach ballet, and I want to dance ballet. It's part of who I am. But my heart also yearns for the actress side of me. The little bite of real acting that I got at the age of ten in a production of Babes in Toyland in Salt Lake City. The countless drives to Ogden for rehearsals of Music Man when I was twelve. The ten-hour dress rehearsals of Jana's plays throughout high school. I miss that. My heart yearns for the flute. The peak of my playing my Senior year when I was practicing daily and could play Carnival of Venice like a pro. When I began to see what my practicing had accomplished and considered going on to play in a symphony. I miss French. Learning an entire other ...

Senior Flute Recital

*(I'm catching up)* November 21st Another rite of passage as my mom would say! Senior Flute recital! I had probably been practicing and preparing the repertoire for almost two years, not to mention the 8 years before that which allowed me to get to the level required to play the pieces. Cindy told me a Senior Recital wasn't required, but encouraged. It was good practice for auditions, stress and pressure management :) ;) and it was a good motivator to practice. I'm so glad I did it, even if it did seem overwhelming at times. I really started to love the flute during the months leading up to the recital. It was exciting to have something to work for and know that soon I could show what I'd been doing for so many years. I worked hard, but wasn't always the most dedicated student. Priorities often put flute behind school and ballet. Dance is my true passion and has been for so many years, but music has helped with dance and I'm thankful for the balance fl...
Graduation. Am I ready? Of course not. Was I ready for Junior High or High School? No. Or maybe I just thought I wasn't. Because it always ended up fine. So much has happened in my years of public education. I learned to read, was on Student Council, learned Shakespeare, sang Shoes in the Fourth Grade Program, was in Symphonic Band as a "sevie", was a Student Body Officer freshman year, marched in the 2013 Rose Parade, spent two awesome years on Dance Company (one with my best friend Ruby), choreographed for Winter and Spring Concert, went to dances, spent hours and hours on homework, studied my brains out, tackled really really hard classes, danced in The Nutcracker ten times, auditioned for whatever I could, threw parties whenever I could, wrote hundreds of essays, traveled with my family, imagined my future, admired my parents, went to Europe three times, set goals, got my license, got three new siblings since Kindergarten, got my first pair of pointe shoes, went...
