Christmas Day 2013

I'm skipping Christmas Eve for now because I'm so excited about today! We woke up at 6:15 am. I got up at about 5:30 because I had to go to the bathroom so I ran downstairs to use Ruby's. She'd been up since 3 dozing off, checking her phone, getting a drink, etc. I fell asleep on one of her bean bags. Finally we couldn't wait any longer. We got Freestone up first, then Xanthe, Tolly, Ari, and Tizzy. We sat on the steps like usual while mom and dad made sure Santa came. Slowly we were allowed to approach the TV room where our presents waited. When I saw the room with all the displays of gifts I couldn't believe it!Santa did a dang good job! Everyone got what they wanted and the room was perfectly perfect, just like Christmas morning should be. Ari and I had a brown bag with tissue paper by our pile of gifts. We opened it and took out a screw driver tool thing. At first I was confused, then I thought maybe it went to the unfinished bathroom downstairs, to un...

Christmas Concert

Dance Company did a Christmas performance at Weber State with Ben Lomond, Clearfield, and Freemont. I was in Hot Chocolate (from Polar Express) for the kids' half and then my friend Hayley's dance for the second half. We met at Davis at 6:30 am to drive down to Weber. The roads were slick and a winter blizzard was going strong. Thankfully we all made it safely and started teching. We had run throughs and staging before the kids came. There were a few elementaries that came as a field trip to watch us do the first half. I'm glad they made it even with the snow, it was so fun to perform for them. I would have loved a field trip like that when I was little. Then we ate pizza and then ran the second half and did a dress rehearsal. We had a lot of time for dinner and Emily and I were kind of tired. We ate our dinner and wondered around Weber and talked with everyone. It was so fun! The performance was great. Hayley's dance had deep meaning to her and you could tell throug...

Christmas celebrations

*These are all out of order. I just had fun pictures of the events and didn't want to forget some of the fun things we did this holiday season! :) We saw the lights and went to the annual Christmas concert at Temple Square. We tried to get stand-by seats but they were all full so we stayed and watched it on the big screen in the tabernacle. It was Dickens-themed and awesome! Afterwords we got Inn-N-Out to split a burger ;) yum! For Mutual we went caroling. At the first house the sister told us she had a sleeping baby so could we please stop. The next house the woman told us it was too cold and to go home. The other one said we couldn't come in because she just had chemo (understandable), the next had caramels on the stove so she couldn't waste time listening to us because they would burn. By this point I was surprised and just wanted to go to the church for refreshments. Caroling isn't that fun anyway when it's below zero! Finally we went to ...
