Rose Recital

I am so excited that the DHS Band is going to the Rose Parade my Sophomore year. I'm so excited and thankful for this amazing opportunity. Each student needs to pay $800 to go plus the tons of fundraisers we've supported to get the money for the band itself. We decided to have a recital with friends, neighbors and family to help me and the band make it to Pasadena. The recital was a huge success! Thank you so much to everyone who came, you helped so so much and are all amazing! My fingers shake a ton even when I'm not that nervous and then my breathing gets messed up, so I wasn't thrilled with my performance, but Ruby and Nancy were great! The Rose Parade will be so worthwhile and amazing, I can't wait! Thank you all for helping me get there

    SO excited that you have this opportunity to march in the Rose Bowl Parade!! That's AWESOME!! When you get closer I'd love to know where you'll be in your band's line up so that I can look for you on TV!

Italia

Ciao! We are in Italy! We woke up at four and went to the airport. We cut it close, which means we just didn't have two hours to waste in the terminal;) the flight was so short! Luckily everything with our bags worked out which had been a little worrying since we took EasyJet. We arrived at the Argenti's and almost immediately left to take a train to Venice. Another American family is here staying nearby who are friends so they also came to Venice. It was weird to speak English to someone besides Ruby! Venice was amazing! It's so pretty and colorful. It was very hot and kind of crowded so we didn't stay in touristy parts the whole time. The water is turquoise and the buildings are intricate and charming. It's kind of like Paris but sassy. If that makes sense. We got yummy pizza and gelato. I told the dad my and Ruby 's order for gelato and he thought it was just mine. So I got two scoops! So much ice cream! Christmas Concert

Dance Company did a Christmas performance at Weber State with Ben Lomond, Clearfield, and Freemont. I was in Hot Chocolate (from Polar Express) for the kids' half and then my friend Hayley's dance for the second half. We met at Davis at 6:30 am to drive down to Weber. The roads were slick and a winter blizzard was going strong. Thankfully we all made it safely and started teching. We had run throughs and staging before the kids came. There were a few elementaries that came as a field trip to watch us do the first half. I'm glad they made it even with the snow, it was so fun to perform for them. I would have loved a field trip like that when I was little. Then we ate pizza and then ran the second half and did a dress rehearsal. We had a lot of time for dinner and Emily and I were kind of tired. We ate our dinner and wondered around Weber and talked with everyone. It was so fun! The performance was great.
