Ballet Photoshoot

My amazing, talented, nice, gorgeous friend Clytie had us over for a photoshoot and some major makeup explorations. We started with watching So You Think You Can Dance and using her fancy makeup to look like models:) then we went to the hills above her house for some forest Hunger Games style pictures... After that Clytie drove us down to the studio to take some dance pictures and walk around Kaysville in leos and pointe shoes, because really why not! :) After all that excitement we went back to Clytie's and.... ordered pizza to be delivered at their house!! We've never had it delivered before and neither had Sara. We got pepperoni and meat and cheese and olive and even cinnamon bread! Yum! After we were full and filled with Domino's deliciousness, Clytie started on our makeup, well my makeup. She had crazy interesting, beautiful designs in her head that ended up taking a long time. So I just ended up with some cool blue eyeshadow under my eyes. We decided

Memory

....all alone in the moonlight! :) I was listening to Cats last night and was reminded of seeing it at the Capitol Theatre a few years ago. We had great seats; right  by the door the actors/cats entered in. They stopped and stared at us as they danced in and it was so cool to see them that close. I love the songs and dancing in it. I especially liked Mr. Mistofelles because in the song streamers shot out into the audience and we got some of it after the show. Also, when Grizabella sings Memory it was the first time I got chills from someone singing. It was such a fun night and the songs are so cheery, fun and magical and now they bring back awesome memories! :) Look at those pictures! Freestone is like 2 feet tall!:) My favorite cat was the small white one and I loved how all the cats wore legwarmers! Kinda 1983 but it worked with the costume!:)

A tour through my room

I've been meaning to do this post for awhile so finally here it is! I thought it would be fun to remember how my teenage room looked like when I'm older. Hopefully I'll still remember it well but I only recall the color of the walls and a dresser from my 5-year-old room so....:) Not the best part of my room, I need a better way to store dance bags :) Desk; my little red laptop and printer and Sharpies! Comfiest reading chair ever! I love the happy turquoise color of the walls and low Ikea bed and high-tech AC thing (thanks Dad!) I live in the Attic so with the low ceilings and rectangular space there's not many options as far furniture placement and room layout but my mom likes room rearranging and Coco always wants to help so it's turned out perfect. I think I've had it this way for almost a year. The next thing will be turquoise, sunset orange and mint blue country chic:)
Do any of you read or watch The Happiness Project? I haven't read the book, but I admit I sometimes read the blog or watch the 'Pigeon of Discontent' videos. She (the author; Gretchen Rubin) has tips for being happier and great quotes. In one of the videos she asked "What do you love?" She really likes C.S. Lewis books and these fancy perfume scent bottles with unique scents. I thought of little things I love. Family, church, ballet, those are the big ones that I obviously love, but small things that are more uncommon are fun too. I love reading a great book in my room with the window open on a rainy day. I love getting letters in the mail. I love running through sprinklers. I love going to little Cafes for breakfast. And I love Bath & Body Works hand sanitizer. What random little things do you love?

Ballet Shower

Look how gorgeous they are!!!       My mom threw a ballet baby shower for Marianne and Kenzie the other night and let Ruby and I hang around for a little while. All the ballet teachers came and it was so fun to listen to them talk and try some of Julie's delicious refreshments. I love love love those cakebites!:) The teachers are so wonderful, poised and practically perfect. I hope I'll grow up to be like them and maybe teach Cleo and baby Stratford someday! Congrats to Kenzie and Marianne and yay Marianne for not doing middle lunges in Jazz:)!

Rose Recital

I am so excited that the DHS Band is going to the Rose Parade my Sophomore year. I'm so excited and thankful for this amazing opportunity. Each student needs to pay $800 to go plus the tons of fundraisers we've supported to get the money for the band itself. We decided to have a recital with friends, neighbors and family to help me and the band make it to Pasadena. The recital was a huge success! Thank you so much to everyone who came, you helped so so much and are all amazing! My fingers shake a ton even when I'm not that nervous and then my breathing gets messed up, so I wasn't thrilled with my performance, but Ruby and Nancy were great! The Rose Parade will be so worthwhile and amazing, I can't wait! Thank you all for helping me get there
