My mom took Ruby and I to Ballet West's Nutcracker last Saturday. It was fun to see it, but I still wanted to jump onstage with the dancers! There were a lot of things I love about their version, but I like the more flowy Snow dance compared to the fast and sharp movements of bw's. I love the Russian dance and liked how they have a guy Chinese and the other 4 girls that were on pointe. But I like Clytie's green Reed Flutes, the Candy Canes and the Clowns! Ballet West doesn't even have any! Oh how I love ballet!:)

Ballet West The Lottery and Bolero

Loved loved loved these dances and this ballet. I saw it a few months ago but these pictures are gorgeous!
Today my mom, Ruby and I went to the Salt Lake temple to do baptisms. If you are endowed, you have to bring family names to do baptisms so my mom just came and watched us. It was so pretty inside and I loved the huge paintings and it's so neat that it took 40 years to build this temple and that the pioneers sacrificed so much for it. I loved the handles, they were carved with intricate designs and had a beehive on the handle with the words Holiness to the Lord. It was so calm and spiritual! One of the names I did a confirmation for even had my same birthday and her name was Elisabetha Something. My mom even has her engagement ring box in her temple bag that she showed me. It's square and black with a golden bang along where it opens. I love my mom's ring and the box! After baptisms we went to a Vietnamese place and got the sandwiches my mom is obsessed with. They were not my cup of tea. I had pizza instead, still good:) Yesterday I had some friends over for a fun girls&#
Getting ready for Christmas

Thanksgiving

Pretty good pic I must say, for 25 grandkids and a neighbor acting as photographer! It's because we have such a cute family :)  I'm so thankful for family! Thanksgiving was so much fun. The food, as usual was delicious, my favorite was yams, mashed potatoes and pecan pie. Mmmm....
I'm thankful for Tizzy, Ruby, Ari, Free, X, and Tolly and my parents. I'm thankful for grandma's amazing cooking, my house, my room, ballet, cameras, heating, electricity, movies, flowers, Christmas, clothes, my health, and the gospel. Yesterday in preparation for Thanksgiving and well, mostly Christmas, I decorated my room. My mom also put up the lights. She is fearless and my dad is afraid of heights.

My YW In Excellence Talk

Sunday Nov 18 For a moment I want you to think about a certain woman in your life that sparkles. Now I’m not talking about who wears the shiniest clothes or the most shimmery lip-gloss. It’s the joy and kindness that radiates from them to give them that sparkle. When you meet someone like this it’s hard to determine what gave them that sparkle. I think a lot of things add to their sparkle and the first, most impressionable is that they have the light of Christ in their countenance. When they know Christ lives and they have a real relationship with Him, they will want to follow him. They will want everything they do to be Christ-like. They have felt the peace, love and spirit Christ can bring into their lives and they welcome it into theirs. It’s kind of like the book, If You Give A Mouse a Cookie that we heard when we were little. If you give a mouse a cookie, he’s going to ask you for a glass of milk. Likewise, if you feel the Savior’s love, you’re going to want to follow H
I just had to had a separate post for Nutcracker pictures!
Nutcracker was amazing. I loved being Snow. There's something so special about Nutcracker. The mood, practice, anticipation, rehearsal, excitement, costumes, dancing, lights, makeup, laughter, smiles, music, being onstage! It's basically the meaning of fun. It is so sad to see the Seniors dance their last year. I can't believe the year after next that will be me! We had some pretty funny moments let me tell ya. ~"Oh here comes a little hairnet!" -Ashley ~"Ya we're all secretly hoping he falls on his face." -Emma ~"My body is like a pear. It's pear-shaped"-Zoey ~"Hey fattie!" -Me and Emma ~"If I'm not married by the time I'm 21 I'll die." -Abby V ~"Oh honey I am THEE diva!" ~Abby V Note: Some of these quotes sound mean or weird out of context but they weren't, they were funny :) My favorite part was the Snow praying together every performance before we went onstage. We'd lin
Nutcracker week has been so much fun. I've loved having a pointe part this year and the Snow costumes are amazing. I also won the Cover Art contest! Yay! I was very excited:) So the cover design I drew will be on every program. I hope people like it! This year instead of Christiana Bennett as the Sugar Plum Fairy it's a girl named Lauren, also from Ballet West. And she is only 17!! Ya...I don't even know what to say about that. She is so good! Anyway, it's been busy and chaotic and vivacious! And that was just dress rehearsals! I can't wait for performances, but I don't want it to end either!

Nutcracker Week!

Nutcracker officially starts today! Dress rehearsal baby! I love Nutcracker. It is one of my very favorite Christmas traditions and I feel so fortunate as to have been able to be in it since I was eight. I've been a.... Ornament Mini Doll Chinese Oriental Servant (Clara Callback) Arabian Red Soldier Clown (Clara Callback) Snow I can't wait for all the lights, makeup, dancing, spirit, and amazing people that come with this magical week. Let it begin!!

Dad and Free

For a while these boys were the only boys of the family! Lucky we have Tolly, but aren't these guys adorable!

Celebrating, Italia style

My awesome mom took me to Settebello's tonight to celebrate my 4.0! It is an Italian pizza place in Station Park. It's the real deal. Italian pizza! It was first time going and we got two pizzas; all the toppings included roasted pine nuts, sausage, olives and artichoke hearts and mushrooms. YUM! I also had to get gelatto there. I've been craving it for so long and the ultra fresh raspberry and the hazelnut/chocolate flavors hit the spot. It was so cozy in there with delicious food and the pretty snow outside. Such a fun night talking to my mom about whatever and celebrating all the work that went into my first term of High School. Thanks mom!

Decision 2012

Well, Obama will be the President for the next four years. I wanted Mitt Romney to win, but I think Obama will continue to be a good leader. Both men have families, are very smart, and are obviously very kind if they've made it this far. I would be honored to meet either one. And next election I will be able to Vote!! Wow! I'm looking forward to it, but I'm glad for another 4 years without propaganda, adds, and drama! :)
