Graves, family, pasta.

The Sunday of Memorial Weekend has now become a tradition to have family over at our house for a spaghetti dinner after visiting the graves. Extended-extended family comes too and it's fun to see them!  Just love this little trouble-maker!!   Bill showed up in his Angry Birds t-shirt and a cute wagon to bring back the stragglers. The kids loved it!

Lagoon Day

Yesterday was the best Lagoon Day ever! The weather was perfect, the lines were short, and I ate a lot of chocolate chews! Tizzy was so cute and I took Tolly on his first "roller coaster." It's called Bombora and his face on it was priceless. Going up the hill you could tell he was nervous. After following uncle Ryan's suggestion to put his hands up, the G-force knocked his head down to the side and he clenched his jaw with his eyes wide. He liked it though and told dad "It was fast and scary and slow at the same time!" :)   Ice cream at Pioneer Village was fun. Jennie and my mom now have techniques for getting the biggest scoops. I got mint chocolate chip and tried some Rocky Road, Almond, and Cheesecake. After my dad used Tolly as a shield from the water on Rattle Snake Rapids, I didn't really trust him to go on any big rides with, but I forced myself to do it:) We went on the Spider, then Wicked! It was my second time on Wicked and I opened my ey

My name

I got my name from my great grandma; Golda Jane Burton King. My middle name is also my grandma and mom's middle name. Mary Kristine, Circe Christine and Golda Cristine. I guess they all ended up being spelled differently, which is fun:) I love love love my name. I love that it's unique and therefore I feel it fits me better. I don't have to deal with having 2 other Golda's in my classes like the Emilys have to do in Dance Company:) You will hear/write/say your name about 584,000 times in your life if you live to be 80 (Yes, I did the math:)) That's a lot of time to deal with one word! I also love middle names. They add sparkle to a name and if you have a name of one of your ancestors, you'll naturally be closer to them and want to learn more about them. Thanks mom and dad for choosing my name carefully! :) Love, Golda Cristine Dopp

The other side

Well, I'm gloriously, happily, awesomely on the flip side of the AP test! It's been a hard time in comin', but I'm so glad I took this class. Even if I didn't pass, I learned so much and now I know what to expect from college-level tests. On May 16th my dad drove me to the church. Only kids from Davis that had the class on B days were there. We went into the gym and set up tables. There was two to a table and the rules were strict. You couldn't open your vacuum-packed multiple-choice test, or the essay prompts, or talk, or sneeze, or move your eyes slightly to the left and right; that could be considered cheating! I felt like Harry Potter, sitting there writing furiously while the "professors" watched you and the clock ticked in the front of the room. Except I didn't use a quill and no one came in on broomsticks and threw fireworks :(  So anyway, I finished the 70 multiple-choice questions, went outside the church with everyone for a break. They

Dance Company 2013

2013-2014! Hooray! I made Dance Company! I am so excited, so relieved, so happy! I am also so sad for those who didn't make it. Not as many girls tried out this year, but they were all really good. Everyone had lots of experience and learning two dances in two days isn't easy. My friends Emily and Hailey made it too and we checked the list together. We all hugged and laughed and just couldn't believe it! You should have seen all the girls trying out, we were all as bruised as bananas! There were three rolls that were pretty easy if you went for it, but were so painful! I was disappointed mine weren't that big, I wanted some battle wounds from all that!:) I felt really good about my auditions. It was actually nice to dance and be around dancers in the middle of my AP test crunch time. I have been so stressed and my time has been consumed with AP. I tell ya I'm going on ice cream and  prayer people. Wait, sleep? What's that? Oh and I made Wind Ensembl
