i am a mormon

I am a sister, dancer, and traveler. And I'm a Mormon. I was born into an LDS family/home. I went to church every week and learned about the doctrines and teachings of my gospel. I read and studied and pondered. I prayed and received answers. I obeyed and was blessed. My conversion was a process and still is. You can always be more converted to the church, and to God's will. Over the years I had a steady flow of an increase in my testimony.... Living in a town with lots of members or just great examples. My parents' example of absolute selflessness. Attending church every Sunday. The Young Womens program and girls camp and youth retreats. Having callings, or responsibilities/leadership positions. The opportunities for personal growth and ability to help and serve others were plentiful. Almost expected. It made me a better person. It made me happier! I know without the light of Christ in my life, I would be lost. Everyone has the light. They're born with it. And I'm

Nutcracker Dress Rehearsal

Thank you Jennifer for these absolutely lovely pictures! You are so great!!!

Missions

Another big life decision I'll make soon is whether or not to serve a mission. In the Mormon church (the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) missions are optional. The choice to serve is entirely up to you. Church leaders highly encourage young men to go on a mission and they also really support young women in going. We are encouraged to pray about it and prepare. We don't choose where we'll go. You turn in your papers and a few weeks later you get a letter in the mail. The letter dictates where you'll spend the next 2 years (or for girls; 1 and 1/2 years) and what language you'll speak. Right now I'm preparing spiritually to be ready to go on a mission, but the closer I come to 19 (the youngest possible age to go on a mission) the more I'll pray about it. The only reason I'd even consider sacrificing 18 months of my life is because I know the church is true. I have a testimony of the things taught. I am sincerely happy in the gospel and I

Ready....Set.....Nutcracker!

Even though Em stopped doing ballet this year, we're both excited for Nutcracker week!  I'm so funny.  My room is probably the most prepared...  Actually, we were both just in the mood for an impromtu photoshoot. Luckily we had all the Dance Company girls there to take phone pics right before class. Here we are in the dance hallway, which is also the Wrestling Room and Weight Room hallway. So that's fun.  Look at this sunset! Ruby and I are choreographing a dance for our Winter Concert. It's in the children's half and based on a book called One Winter's Day.   AP Art History is my favorite class. I have to miss it twice this week; one for our Winter Concert dress rehearsal today and on Friday because I'm going to a dance workshop at UVU. I drew this Degas-inspired Little Dancer last week because it was the end of term and I had a bit of time. My Nutcracker bears! Noel, Gema, Bennett, unnamed, Cinnamon, Valentine, and Scar

1/4

How is the school year already a quarter of the way through?? It's going by way too fast! So...term 1 I got a 4.0!!!! Yay! I was nervous about AP Art History since we only have tests as scores, and CE Math because it's math, and AP English because one of my assignments got a bad score, but....I did it! Hallelujah! Here are some pictures that sum it up pretty well Nutcracker pictures!  Rearranging my room. I moved my desk and ottomans, I love the new set up!

Help!

Since I'm making the important college decision in a few months, give me some advice! What was your favorite part of your college experience? Do you feel the one you attended was the best choice? Did you stick to the major you went in declaring? If you lived in a dorm, how was it? Thanks!
