Why I Am Choosing To Serve A Mission

Although this is very difficult to articulate, dare I even say impossible, I am going to try! I am choosing to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I will serve for eighteen months. I do not choose where I spend those eighteen months, or even in what language I will speak during that time. I will take a break from school, from my dancing and leave my family. It is a sacrifice. It is a sacrifice I am willing to make because I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ lived and died for me so that I can repent, learn to love fully, and become like him. To become better and to learn during my lifetime. I know that he died for every one . I know that he knows each of us, individually, and wants us to be happy. Heavenly Father also loves and knows each of us. He has guided and directed me numerous times, in ways that cannot be explained without fully recognizing His divine hand. The relationships, experiences, trials, and blessings I
Everything on this road trip was incredibly beautiful and expansive. I felt very small, but empowered and inspired at the same time. The vastness of the space was such a change from living in Orem, and the openness was invigorating!  The ranger was super serious about his job. He gave the kids Junior Ranger badges for completing the Ranger packets and told us all about the telescope in the store, rules about National Parks, and nature in general. It seems kind of lonely, but you'd definitely become appreciative of nature, meet some cool people, and know a lot about the world we live on by being a Ranger. I felt like I was in a big coffee table "Best Road-trips in the USA" book Mom laying in the middle of the road, with pink hair Stopped for shakes and fries at Stan's, right outside the road to Lake Powell. After having what I thought was the flu, I ate dairy a few days later and felt sick again. I was thinking I might have s
Golda Dopp Tech 3 Concert Critique 17 February 2016 ROMEO AND JULIET I saw Romeo And Juliet, choreographed by John Cranko and performed by Ballet West at Capitol Theatre on February 12th, 2016. The ballet was the most professional and well-done ballet that I have seen Ballet West perform. The costumes, sets, and props were luxurious and highly detailed. The dancers’ acting really told the story and I felt that every movement conveyed an emotion to the audience. Romeo and Juliet’s first meeting pas de deux was exquisite and innocent. The ‘dance of the knights’ was powerful and gave the ballet a strong sense of tension. The balcony pas de deux was my personal favorite. It was passionate and playful, with intense longing and impressive, sweeping lifts. Romeo and Juliet exchange curious glances at the Capulet party. Juliet is promised to Paris, but as the scene progresses, she becomes noticeably interested in Romeo and more distant with Paris. Instead of politely dancing w
Golda Dopp Laura Hamblin Grammar Check 14 February 2016 Paper #1 Corrections Dangling Modifier- Rule: A dangling modifier does not seem to modify anything in a sentence; it dangles, unconnected to the word(s) it presumably is intended to modify. Correction: When I was a child, “the arts” made me think ballerinas clad in tulle... Vague Pronoun- Rule: Pronouns can sometimes refer to more than one none, thus confusing readers. If different pronouns can be confused as the antecedent, then the ambiguity should be clarified. Correction: The art world was an indulgent world where seats were covered in red               velvet, clothing was lavish and sparkly, and museums were posh and professional.      3.  Incorrect comma- Rule: In a series of three or more items, place a comma after each item           except the last one. Correction: I was lucky enough to be surrounded by opportunities to experience great           artwork, music, and theater.
