First day of High School

Back to school?!

My 9 pages of homework; due on the first day

I am now an official dart and sophomore! Last night I was stressing (mostly due to the AP homework I was still finishing), feeling excited and choosing my outfit. I was so glad to get my back-to-school priesthood blessing from my dad, I'm already a little nervous about my AP class and Honors English and fitting practicing into my schedule, so that helped. Today I woke up at 5:25 am and went up & down my stairs about 20 times. I decided to wear a white flowy floralish blouse from H &M that has a black bow and green skinny jeans also from H & M. Finally I could wear long pants since DHS has Air Conditioning! Haha Ruby and Lex! :)
The first day was not at all what I expected. I'm not quite sure what it was, it was just different. I met Tori at the bus stop after my parents drove me to it, all the way from 3 blocks!:) We were so nervous going in, but Kyle showed me where my 1st period was and Tori got a print out of her schedule, which she had left at home. I didn't get lost and most of the hour and a half of every period was talking about the disclosure. All the students have the same lunch, so it's kind of a free-for-all. I found my friends and talked to them and Alyssa told us she got asked to Homecoming! You wouldn't believe how many people there are! There's 830 students just in 10th grade! That's more than all the people at FJH. It's the largest sophomore since about 1914!
I really liked it and I already feel like I've been there for awhile. School is just easy to get used to if you've been going for 9 years:)
After school I went to ballet and then came home to find cookies from my Sunday school teacher and the book of poetry I was published in!

I'm the fourth name down

Now for the first day of B day!

  1. I still have nightmares that I can't find my classes or my list of classes so I just wonder from room to room trying to find which class I am supposed to be in. I am glad you had a fun day!

There are so many things that make up a person. I know that "things" isn't the right word, but I can't think of something that adequately describes what a person even  would  be made of. Dreams, accomplishments, interests, regrets, mistakes, wishes, relationships, etc. I love ballet. I want to teach ballet, and I want to dance ballet. It's part of who I am. But my heart also yearns for the actress side of me. The little bite of real acting that I got at the age of ten in a production of Babes in Toyland in Salt Lake City. The countless drives to Ogden for rehearsals of Music Man when I was twelve. The ten-hour dress rehearsals of Jana's plays throughout high school. I miss that. My heart yearns for the flute. The peak of my playing my Senior year when I was practicing daily and could play Carnival of Venice like a pro. When I began to see what my practicing had accomplished and considered going on to play in a symphony. I miss French. Learning an entire other ...
So my parents are off to Paris with Freestone and Tizzy. Lucky ducks! My grandparents are staying with us some of the time, but a lot of babysitting and homework is in-store for me this next week and a quarter so I was kinda stressed out. I spaced all my homework and remembered at 11 pm last night that I had a 100 question biology test, 2 Honors English assignments (That included reading) and 6 pages of math. So I woke up at 6, did it, planned to do the math during lunch and got ready in about 2.7 minutes. Luckily, I had tutorial so I went to get Algebra 2 help and finished that. Yay! And my science test turned out to be good, I could use notes and a textbook. I am so relieved right now and I think Heavenly Father helped a lot today. The Epic of Gilgamesh has nothin' on me today! :) PS Have fun in Paris guys! We'll miss you but not too much, I mean You're In Paris! :)

Italia

Ciao! We are in Italy! We woke up at four and went to the airport. We cut it close, which means we just didn't have two hours to waste in the terminal;) the flight was so short! Luckily everything with our bags worked out which had been a little worrying since we took EasyJet. We arrived at the Argenti's and almost immediately left to take a train to Venice. Another American family is here staying nearby who are friends so they also came to Venice. It was weird to speak English to someone besides Ruby! Venice was amazing! It's so pretty and colorful. It was very hot and kind of crowded so we didn't stay in touristy parts the whole time. The water is turquoise and the buildings are intricate and charming. It's kind of like Paris but sassy. If that makes sense. We got yummy pizza and gelato. I told the dad my and Ruby 's order for gelato and he thought it was just mine. So I got two scoops! So much ice cream! Italian is so beautiful and basically a combination of...
